Techie Takes Rs 4 Lakh Pay Cut For WFH Opportunity
A man who works with computers used to earn a lot of money, but his job made him very tired because he had too much work and no time for his family.
For more than six months, he felt unhappy about the workload.
He tried to find another job while still working, but it was difficult because companies wanted people who could start right away.
So he decided to quit his job even though he did not have a new one yet.
He rested for five days and spent time with his family.
Then he started looking for a new job in a careful way.
Three companies said no to him, but the fourth company said yes.
The new job pays less money, but he can work from home and only go to the office when needed.
He chose this job because he wanted more time for himself and his family, and he is happy with his choice.
Many people on the internet said he was brave for doing what felt right.
A techie earning Rs 33 lakh per annum quit his job without another offer in hand after being frustrated with the workload for more than six months.
His story went viral on X (formerly Twitter) through a post by user Vanesh Mali, who detailed his friend's decision.
After resigning, the techie took a five-day break with no work, no job and no preparation before starting a disciplined job search.
After receiving three rejections, he accepted a Rs 29 lakh per annum work-from-home offer from a fourth company, taking a Rs 4 lakh pay cut.
The techie and social media commentators framed the move as prioritizing mental health, self-time and family time over higher pay.

Is the pay cut worth it?
Prioritize Peace of Mind
Money is important, but if a job costs you health, peace and family time, the real price is much higher than the pay cut.
Prioritize Pay and Market Realities
A peaceful life matters, but money does too; today's job market is not as good as before, so finding another opportunity even with a smaller package is not guaranteed.
Quitting without an offer in hand
Prioritize Peace of Mind
It was a brave, admirable gamble that many people are scared to take; the techie trusted his gut feeling and is now happy with his decision.
Prioritize Pay and Market Realities
This kind of risk only works if you have savings for 2-3 months of unemployment, and that is exactly what people are scared to do.
