How Indians Can Get an International Driving Permit
If you're from India and want to drive in another country, you'll need an International Driving Permit, or IDP.
Think of it as a translated version of your Indian driver's license.
You can get one by applying at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) or online through the Parivahan Sewa portal.
You'll need your driver's license, passport, and some other documents.
The IDP is good for a year and lets you drive in many countries, but always carry it with your Indian license.
You can apply again if you lose it or it expires.
An International Driving Permit (IDP) allows Indian citizens to drive legally in over 150 countries.
The IDP is a translation of your Indian driving license and must be used with it.
To apply, you need a valid Indian driving license, passport, visa, and other documents.
Applications can be made at the RTO or via the Parivahan Sewa portal.
The IDP is typically valid for one year from the date of issue.
