Sanctions May Limit Russian Crude Oil Exports to India
The US might put extra taxes or restrictions on India for buying oil from Russia.
This could mean Russia sells less oil.
India has been buying a lot more oil from Russia, becoming a major customer.
However, if India faces restrictions, Russia might have to sell more oil to China, its largest customer.
Before, most Russian oil went to Europe, but now, it goes mostly to Asia.
Additional tariffs or sanctions may decrease Russian crude oil exports.
India became the second-largest recipient of Russian crude oil and condensate in 2024.
