JNTU Freshers Traumatised by Mock Marriage Ragging Incident
Some older students at a college in India reportedly played a mean prank on younger students.
They made the new students, who are all boys, do things like pretend to get married and dance.
This made the younger students feel very scared and sad, and some even stopped going to class.
The college principal said it was just a friendly meeting and not ragging, and that no one had complained to him.
He also mentioned that a security guard was suspended for bad behavior unrelated to this incident.
First-year male students at JNTU College of Engineering were allegedly subjected to severe mental harassment by seniors.
The ragging included a mock marriage ceremony and forced inappropriate acts, causing trauma to the victims.
Videos of the incident, which occurred four days ago, recently surfaced on social media, leading to outrage.
Parents have lodged complaints and demanded an investigation.
