NIMS Staff Celebrates Earned Leave Encashment Approval
The health minister of Telangana has approved a new scheme that allows employees of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) to exchange their earned leave for cash.
This is similar to what government employees can do.
The employees are very happy about this decision and are calling it a nice New Year gift.
The rules for this scheme are based on the Telangana Leave Rules from 1933.
The government issued a special order, called GO 230, to make this happen.
The employees who get paid according to the AIIMS (Central) pay scales can now enjoy this benefit.
NIMS employees can now encash earned leave, similar to government employees.
The scheme was approved by Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha.
Employees have been seeking this facility for several years.
The approval was issued through Government Order 230 on Monday.
NIMS staff and unions welcomed the decision, calling it a 'New Year gift'.
