Durga Puja Art Preview Opens with Accessibility Focus
Imagine a big art show for Durga Puja!
It opened on September 18th.
This year, it's extra special because it's all about making sure everyone can enjoy the festival, especially people with disabilities and seniors.
They're starting with a pilot program at a few places to make it easier for everyone to enter and enjoy the art.
It's like they're adding ramps and other features to make the show welcoming for all.
The Durga Puja Art Preview Show opened at Alipore Museum on September 18.
The event featured an art fair, performances, and a focus on accessibility.
UNESCO and IIT Kharagpur are partnering to launch an accessibility program.
The program aims to make Durga Puja more inclusive for senior citizens, children with autism, and persons with disabilities.
The pilot accessibility program will expand from 24 pandals in 2025 to 300 in 2026.
