ZTE Unveils First Agentic AI Smartphone
ZTE, a company from China, has made a special smartphone with a smart AI helper called Doubao.
This AI is not just like the ones we usually see; it can control the phone just like a person would.
It can open apps, make calls, and even do things like booking a hotel or ordering food without the user having to do much.
The AI uses a powerful chip and can work both on the phone and in the cloud.
It can also talk to other AI helpers, like when it ordered drinks and talked to the delivery bot.
This phone is a big step forward in how AI can help us with our daily tasks.
ZTE, in collaboration with ByteDance, introduced a smartphone with an AI agent integrated at the OS level.
The AI agent, Doubao, can control the phone like a human, performing tasks such as booking hotels and ordering food.
The prototype is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with 16 GB of RAM.
Doubao uses a two-layer architecture: cloud-based semantic reasoning and on-device screen control for privacy and speed.
The AI can interact with other AI systems, such as booking a robotaxi and handling delivery confirmations autonomously.
