Kerala Actor-Assault Verdict Leak Sparks Judicial Probe
There was a big court case in Kerala, India, about an actress who was hurt in 2017.
The court was going to announce who was guilty on December 8, 2025.
But before that, someone sent a secret letter saying who would be let go and who would be found guilty.
The letter was right, and now people are worried that someone leaked the secret court decision.
The head of a group of lawyers asked the chief judge to look into how this happened to make sure the court stays fair and trustworthy.
The prosecution and the probe team are confident that all the accused, including actor Dileep, who was acquitted, will be convicted in the higher courts when the appeals are considered.
They believe the evidence against Dileep is strong and that the verdict could be reversed on appeal.
An anonymous letter dated December 2, 2025, predicted the verdict in the 2017 Kerala actress abduction and sexual assault case, which was pronounced on December 8, 2025.
The letter claimed that three of the nine accused, including actor Dileep, would be excluded from the verdict, and only six would be convicted.
The verdict matched the predictions in the letter, raising concerns about a potential breach of judicial confidentiality.
The Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association (KHCAA) President, Yeshwanth Shenoy, forwarded the letter to the Chief Justice, demanding an investigation.
The prosecution and the probe team expressed confidence that all the accused, including Dileep, will be convicted in the higher courts when the appeals are considered.
