Odisha Engineer Survives Nepal Flood; Wife, Daughter Missing

Gunnam Jay Krishna worked at a hydropower project in Nepal.

A phone call sent him to inspect a tunnel just before floodwaters destroyed the nearby housing area.

He reached a higher part of the tunnel and survived.

His wife and two-year-old daughter were at their home and are still missing.

Jay Krishna and two coworkers waited outside for 36 hours before a helicopter rescued them.

He is now staying in Kathmandu.

Officials will help replace the documents he lost.

He hopes his wife and daughter will be found and returned safely.
