Delhi: Few Hours with Clean Air, Comfortable Conditions
Imagine trying to enjoy a nice day in Delhi, but the air is often dirty or the temperature isn't pleasant.
A study found that only a small portion of the year in Delhi has both clean air and comfortable weather.
Other cities, like Bengaluru, have better air quality.
To help, the study suggests using special systems called PECS in buildings.
These systems clean the air and manage temperature, which can also save a lot of energy.
Delhi experiences both clean air and comfortable temperatures for only 3% of the year.
The study was presented at the Healthy Building 2025 Conference on June 8th.
Bengaluru offers significantly more hours of acceptable air quality.
The study suggests the use of Personalised Environmental Control Systems (PECS).
PECS could save up to 68% energy in Delhi compared to conventional AC.
