Kalyan Banerjee confronts Priyanka Gandhi over defectors
Kalyan Banerjee, a member of the Trinamool Congress, put up banners outside Parliament that called 20 MPs traitors for leaving his party.
He then talked to Priyanka Gandhi, a Congress MP, and said that these defectors were with Narendra Modi.
Kalyan also reminded everyone that Mamata Banerjee left Congress in 1997 to start Trinamool.
He said the defectors should be disqualified.
Priyanka tried to defend them, but Kalyan kept pointing out past political moves.
The whole thing happened in West Bengal’s Parliament building.
Kalyan Banerjee displayed banners accusing 20 defectors of betraying Bengal in Parliament’s Makar Dwar.
He confronted Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, accusing her of aligning with traitors and praising Narendra Modi for sitting with them.
The banners highlighted 20 MPs who joined the Nationalist Citizens Party of India, whose merger with NCPI is not yet recognized by the Speaker.
Kalyan reminded Congress MPs of Mamata Banerjee’s 1997 split from the party and his own role as Trinamool’s West Bengal general secretary.
The exchange included remarks about former leaders Rajiv Gandhi and the political dynamics of West Bengal.
