Southern Railway Adds 16 Special Trains Across Two Routes
Southern Railway is adding 16 extra train services in September 2026.
The trains will run on two routes.
One route connects Hubballi and Rameswaram.
The other connects Tuticorin and Narasapur.
The Hubballi–Rameswaram trains are extensions of existing special services.
The Tuticorin–Narasapur trains are being added because more passengers are expected.
Passengers can book seats in advance.

Southern Railway will operate 16 special train services across two routes in September 2026.
Eight Hubballi–Rameswaram services will run on September 6, 13, 20 and 27, with returns on September 7, 14, 21 and 28.
Eight Tuticorin–Narasapur services will operate on September 7, 14, 21 and 28, with return trips on September 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Tuticorin–Narasapur trains are intended to handle extra passenger demand, and reservations opened on August 22 at 8 a.m.
