Howrah Division Develops Advanced Ballistic Shield
The Howrah Division of Eastern Railway has created a special protective shield for the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
This shield is made of strong materials and can protect RPF personnel from bullets, stones, and other dangers.
It is big enough to cover a person who is 7 feet tall and has a clear glass window so they can see what's happening around them.
The shield can be moved quickly in any direction because it has wheels, and two people can use it together.
This will help keep RPF personnel safe during their work, especially in crowded places.
Additionally, the railway is planning to install face recognition systems and X-ray scanners at important stations like Howrah and Sealdah to improve passenger security.
Howrah Division of Eastern Railway developed an advanced ballistic shield for RPF.
The shield is made of high-grade stainless-steel plates and 17.4 mm toughened transparent glass.
It protects against small-calibre bullets, stone pelting, and blunt-force attacks.
The shield is designed for two RPF personnel to operate simultaneously and has 360-degree swivel wheels for mobility.
Additional security measures include Face Recognition System and X-Ray baggage scanners at key stations.
