Congress Opens Goa Alliance Talks Ahead of 2027 Polls

The Congress wants several opposition parties to work together in Goa’s 2027 election.

It has started talks with the Aam Aadmi Party and the Revolutionary Goans Party.

Congress leader Girish Chodankar said the early conversations were positive.

The parties may later discuss which group will contest each seat.

The Goa Forward Party is not currently talking because it wants to focus on all 40 constituencies.

Congress says it is ready to resume talks with that party.

Goa has 40 assembly seats.

In the 2022 election, the BJP won the most seats, followed by Congress.
