Security Forces Review Victoria Memorial Arrangements After Terror Arrests
Security teams checked Victoria Memorial in Kolkata for four days.
The teams included the NSG, West Bengal STF and CISF.
They inspected the site and created a three-dimensional model.
They wanted to find ways to make the famous monument safer.
The review came after two people were arrested in investigations involving alleged militant and espionage links.
Officials said an alleged plot to carry out sabotage had been uncovered.
Victoria Memorial attracts many visitors from India and other countries.
Police and security agencies are therefore taking extra care to protect it.
NSG, West Bengal STF and CISF conducted a four-day security review at Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial from August 17 to 20.
The operation included physical inspections and three-dimensional modelling of the monument complex.
Authorities said the review aimed to strengthen security, raise awareness and protect the heritage site.
The exercise followed the arrests of Hamim Mondal and alleged Pakistani operative Rana Rauf.
