Declassified FBI Files Reveal Saudi Links To 9/11 Hijackers
New videos about the September 11 attacks have been made public.
They show Omar al-Bayoumi meeting or connecting with Saudi government officials and Anwar al-Awlaki.
Awlaki later became a leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
The FBI had the videos shortly after the attacks in 2001.
The BBC obtained and reported on the footage.
Families of September 11 victims are suing Saudi Arabia for $1 trillion.
They consider al-Bayoumi an important figure in their case.
The report describes links and evidence, but it does not say the videos prove that Saudi Arabia organized the attacks.
Newly revealed videos feature Omar al-Bayoumi, described as central to a $1 trillion lawsuit by 9/11 families against Saudi Arabia.
The footage shows al-Bayoumi’s links to Saudi government officials and Anwar al-Awlaki.
Anwar al-Awlaki later led al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, according to the report.
The BBC obtained the videos, which had been in FBI possession within days of the 2001 attacks.
The material is presented as new evidence concerning possible Saudi connections to the hijackers, but the report does not state that it proves government responsibility.
