Ratcliffe’s Moscow Trip Draws Kremlin Confirmation, Trump Downplays Mission

CIA Director John Ratcliffe reportedly made a secret trip to Moscow.

The Kremlin said he met Russian intelligence officials.

It said he did not meet President Vladimir Putin.

U.S. media reported that Ratcliffe warned Russia not to attack NATO countries.

They also said he discussed Iran during the meetings.

A U.S. military plane was tracked flying to Moscow and staying there for several hours.

The Kremlin called the contacts a positive development.

However, it said it was too early to know whether the trip would improve strained U.S.-Russia relations.

Trump described the visit as semi-routine.
