India's Geoscience Agencies Sign MoU To Advance Exploration

Two Indian organizations have agreed to work more closely on studying what lies beneath the ground.

The organizations are CSIR-NGRI and the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons.

They signed an agreement called a Memorandum of Understanding, or MoU.

The agreement was signed in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Scientists and government officials will share knowledge and conduct studies together.

They will use modern geophysical technologies to learn more about underground resources.

India needs more energy, so better exploration could help the country understand and develop its own resources.

The partnership is also meant to improve scientific research and support energy security.
