Independence Day 2026: 9 Patriotic Films and Shows to Watch

Independence Day is a special day in India when the country remembers becoming free.

This year, a list of movies and shows was put together to watch over the holiday weekend.

Some movies are about brave soldiers, like Ikkis, which tells the story of a young army officer who fought in a war.

Another movie, called Main Vaapas Aaunga, is about families who had to leave their homes when India was divided long ago.

There is also a show about pilots helping during the Kargil War, called Operation Safed Sagar.

Older movies like Rang De Basanti and Swades ask what it means to love your country in everyday life.

Swades is about a man who works at NASA and returns to help a village get electricity and education.

New movies are also coming out on the Independence Day weekend.

One is called Batwara 1947, which is about the time of Partition.

Another, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, is about nurses and doctors who were very brave during a big attack in Mumbai.
