Ujjain SIR Protest Enters Fifth Day as Rail Disruptions Hit Passengers

People in Ujjain have been holding a peaceful protest for five days.

They say voting rights and democracy need protection.

They want the Special Intensive Revision process cancelled and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign.

The organisers said a relay hunger strike would start on October 11.

Many community groups and individuals have backed the protest.

Separately, a Cockroach Janata Party protest in Delhi was followed by cancellations of trains between Indore and Delhi.

Around 3,200 passengers had to change or abandon their travel plans.

Some trains also will not reach Ujjain on Saturday and Sunday because their train sets were unavailable.
