Andhra Pradesh Government Plans Tourism Push to Attract Investment

The Andhra Pradesh government wants more people to visit the state.

It plans to promote cultural, spiritual, natural and coastal places.

Officials say tourism has been given industrial status to attract businesses and investment.

The tourism minister said ₹20,000 crore in investment came to the state over the last two-and-a-half years.

The government is also encouraging homestays, caravans and bed-and-breakfast facilities.

These projects could create jobs for guides, drivers, shopkeepers and hotel workers.

QR codes will help visitors learn about more than 100 tourist destinations.

The minister also encouraged young people to consider tourism as a career.
