Prakash Padukone Steps Down from Badminton Academy
Prakash Padukone, a famous badminton player, has decided to leave the academy he started many years ago.
He helped train many top players like Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu.
Now, he wants to focus on teaching badminton to more people, especially kids.
The academy will still be there, but with new leaders.
Prakash is 70 years old and feels it's time to pass on the baton.
He is proud of what he and his friends have done for badminton in India.
Prakash Padukone stepped down from the Managing Committee of PPBA on October 1, 2025.
He will focus on expanding the Padukone School of Badminton to promote badminton at the grassroots level.
The academy has been renamed to Centre for Badminton Excellence (CBE) and will continue operations in Bengaluru.
Notable alumni of PPBA include Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, Aparna Popat, and others.
The current coaching team, led by Vimal Kumar and Vivek Kumar, will continue to operate the academy.
