Putin amends law to ignore foreign courts
President Vladimir Putin of Russia has signed a new law that allows Russia to ignore decisions made by foreign and international courts in criminal cases.
This comes as Ukraine and European countries are trying to hold Russia accountable for its actions in Ukraine, including alleged war crimes.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has even issued arrest warrants for Putin and other Russian officials, accusing them of illegally taking children from Ukraine.
Russia denies these allegations, saying they are only protecting children from the conflict.
The new law means Russia can disregard rulings from courts it doesn't agree with, unless there's an international agreement or a UN Security Council resolution.
