Joint Survey to Resolve Kondagattu Temple-Forest Boundary Dispute
There is a long-standing argument between the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple and the forest department about who owns a piece of land.
The temple says it needs more space for parking because many people visit, especially during festivals.
The forest department says the temple built things on their land without permission.
Now, they are going to do a joint survey to figure out the correct boundaries.
The temple wants to exchange some of its land for the land it is using.
The government will decide what to do after the survey.
A boundary dispute exists between the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple and the forest department over six acres of forest land.
The temple has constructed buildings on the disputed land without prior government approval, violating the Forest Conservation Act, 1980.
The temple seeks an additional four acres for parking and devotee facilities due to heavy pilgrim footfall, especially during Hanuman Jayanti.
A joint inspection by the Survey and Land Records Department will determine the legal status of the disputed land.
The temple management has proposed a land exchange, offering four acres of its land in Survey No. 362 for four acres in Survey No. 573.
