IEX Trading Rises as September Power Prices More Than Double

The Indian Energy Exchange reported how much electricity was traded through its markets.

In the second quarter of FY27, trading reached 39,685 million units, 12.7% more than a year earlier.

September trading also grew, reaching 12.2 billion units.

At the same time, India used more electricity, and demand was especially strong.

This helped push September electricity prices to more than twice their levels a year earlier in two markets.

The Real-Time Market also had a record day, with 315 million units traded on September 26.

However, trading in green electricity and renewable energy certificates was lower than a year earlier.
