Hyderabad Cybercrime Police Arrest 49 Across 15 States

The police in Hyderabad have a special team that catches people who cheat others over the internet, called cybercriminals.

In July, this team arrested 49 cheaters who came from 15 different states in India.

The cheaters used many tricks, like fake money-making plans, pretending to be a company on WhatsApp, and fake investment offers.

The police gave back about 98 lakh rupees to people who had been cheated.

The cheaters had taken more than 13 crore rupees, so this was only part of the money.

Police also removed 128 fake social media pages that used videos of famous people made by computers to fool users.

One tricky cheater pretended to be a company representative and got a firm to send 25 lakh rupees to his account, but the police caught him.

The police made 1,537 phone calls to victims to help them, and they say people should call the helpline 1930 if they face such scams.

Catching cheaters and removing fake pages helps keep people safe online.
