Women of Bangladesh's July Uprising Faded from Political Structures: Report

Women of Bangladesh's July Uprising Faded from Political Structures: Report

In 2024, many people in Bangladesh held big protests called the July Uprising.

Women were some of the most important helpers during these protests.

They led chants, helped hurt people, gave medical care, and made food.

After the protests, the old government fell and a new government took over.

But a new report says women were pushed out of important jobs in the government afterward.

One woman leader said her special committee was ignored and even insulted by some people.

A study also found that many mean and rude comments were made about women online.

Also, political parties did not choose enough women to run for parliament.

Many people think this is unfair.

They say women should be treated as equal partners in building the country, not just helpers during a crisis.
