Delhi L-G Sandhu Orders Faster Joint Action on Safety
Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu asked several government agencies to work together on safety problems.
The agencies included the police, fire service, development authority and city corporation.
He said they should not handle important problems separately when teamwork is needed.
He also told officials to finish their tasks within clear time limits.
Each agency should know who is responsible for every task.
Sandhu reviewed plans to reduce paperwork and make approvals faster for people.
He discussed community policing and other programs designed to improve safety.
Officials are also working to help children feel safer and more protected.
The overall goal is to make Delhi safer and better managed.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu chaired a coordination meeting involving government, police, civic, development and fire-service officials.
He called for a whole-of-government approach instead of agencies working in separate silos.
Officials were directed to pursue time-bound civic and administrative activities with clear accountability and faster on-ground results.
Sandhu reviewed deregulation and compliance-reduction efforts aimed at reducing red tape and speeding up approvals for Delhi residents.
He also reviewed community policing, welfare platforms, targeted safety measures and child-safety awareness initiatives in Delhi.
