Eight Myanmar Nationals Jailed for Illegal Stay in India
A court in India has given eight people from Myanmar jail time for being in the country without permission.
They were sentenced to two years and have to pay a fine.
After their time in jail, they will be sent back to Myanmar.
The court said that because India isn't part of a certain agreement, cards that some refugees have don't let them live in India.
Another person was accused of helping them, but the court didn't find enough proof.
The people were found on February 26, 2024.
Eight Myanmarese nationals were sentenced to two years in prison for illegal stay.
