Maintaining Vitamin D Levels During Winter

Maintaining Vitamin D Levels During Winter

Imagine your body makes a special vitamin called Vitamin D when your skin feels the sun's rays.

This is easy in the summer when days are long and sunny.

But in winter, the days are short and gloomy, and we tend to stay inside more, so our skin doesn't get enough sun.

This makes our Vitamin D levels go down.

Some people need to be extra careful, like older folks, people with darker skin, or those who have to work at night.

Even some diets, like veganism, or certain tummy or kidney problems can make it harder to get enough Vitamin D. So, it's important to find ways to keep your Vitamin D levels healthy when the sun isn't around much.
