Mumbai's August Curated Events Celebrate Heritage, Art, and Wellness
In August 2026, the city of Mumbai in India is hosting many special events that celebrate Indian culture and history.
One event shows rare items that belonged to Mahatma Gandhi, a famous leader of India.
The items come from the collection of his close friend Anand T Hingorani and include letters, blessings, and even a pocket watch.
Another event is an art preview where famous Indian paintings will be shown before they go to auction in New York.
A third event is a talk about famous monuments of India.
The talk is based on a book called 51+ Monuments of India.
There is also a big meeting about health and living longer, called the Longevity Summit India 2026.

Saffronart will exhibit 86 rare Gandhi artefacts from Anand T Hingorani's archive in Mumbai on August 18–19, 2026.
Gandhi's 688 autograph reflections for Hingorani are valued at ₹15–25 crores, with his rosary and blessing letters at ₹30–40 lakh.
Christie's Mumbai is previewing 16 works by Indian modernists including Souza, Husain, Raza, Ram Kumar, Sabavala, and Ganesh Pyne from August 5–9.
Fairmont Mumbai will host the Longevity Summit India 2026, presented by Le Florence, on August 15–16 with over 40 global speakers.
Bombay Brasserie in Colaba will host a 'Monuments of India' session on August 23 with the authors of 51+ Monuments of India.
