Mumbai Water Crisis: BMC Plans Zone-Wise Supply Amid Shortages

Mumbai is facing complaints about not getting enough water.

The BMC plans to find the areas experiencing the worst shortages.

It will compare water demand and supply in each area.

Some places may receive full water supply on assigned days.

If supply is sufficient but complaints continue, officials will look for leaking pipes.

Mumbai uses about 4,600 million litres of water each day but currently receives about 4,100 million litres.

The city’s seven lakes are 96% full, but officials say more water may be needed before October.

The BMC plans to keep the water cut, while corporators want it removed during the Ganeshotsav festival.
