Late Call-Up Helps Roshibina Win Third Asian Games Medal
Roshibina Devi won a silver medal in wushu at the 2026 Asian Games.
Wushu is a martial art and combat sport.
She reached the final even though she joined India’s team only three days before the team left for Japan.
She had replaced Divyanshi Choudhary, who withdrew after an injury and medical examinations.
In the final, China’s Zhang Xiaoyu defeated Roshibina 2-0.
This was Roshibina’s third Asian Games medal in a row.
She previously won bronze in 2018 and silver in 2023.
Roshibina said she had little time to prepare and that Zhang’s longer reach helped her.
She wants to train more and turn a future silver medal into gold.
Roshibina Devi won silver in the women’s 60kg sanda event at the 2026 Asian Games.
She lost the gold-medal bout 0-2 to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in Nagoya.
The result made her the first Indian wushu athlete to win three consecutive Asian Games medals.
