Punjab Meets UMEED Waqf Data Deadline
Punjab has almost finished uploading details of its Waqf properties to a special website called UMEED.
They had to do this by Saturday night and managed to complete over 95% of the work, even though there were some problems with the website.
A lot of people worked really hard, even at night, to get it done on time.
Punjab is one of the best states in the country for doing this.
They focused on uploading details of big Waqf estates, which include many smaller properties.
Some districts, like Hoshiarpur, did better than others.
A few details are still waiting to be approved, but most of the work is done.
In Andhra Pradesh, many people who manage Waqf properties, called Mutawallis, need help with the website.
They don't know how to use it, and they don't have the right documents.
A group called INSAAF (CPI) wants the Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board to teach Mutawallis how to use the website so they can finish the job.
Punjab has uploaded details of 24,886 Waqf estates out of 25,863, meeting the UMEED portal deadline with over 95% completion.
Only around 500 estates remain to be uploaded, with 46 pending approval in Punjab.
Punjab faced technical issues but still managed to complete the task, focusing on uploading Waqf estates that include multiple properties.
Hoshiarpur is the top-performing district in Punjab, with 3,393 out of 3,427 estates approved.
In Andhra Pradesh, Mutawallis lack technical awareness and access to guidance, leading to incomplete digital registration of Waqf properties, and training workshops are urged to help them.
