Arunachal CM to Hear Adi Groups’ Siang Project Concerns

Arunachal CM to Hear Adi Groups’ Siang Project Concerns

Arunachal Pradesh’s chief minister, Pema Khandu, has invited two Adi organisations to a meeting on October 13.

They will talk about a proposed project on the Siang river.

The groups had already shared concerns at a press conference on October 3.

Some villagers and local people worry the project could affect their land, homes, work and environment.

The project is also expected to help produce electricity and manage water.

The state government says talking with local communities is important.

The meeting will give the organisations a chance to explain their concerns directly to the chief minister.

They have been asked to send their representatives’ names ahead of time.
