Indian FIDE Trainer Praful Jhaveri To Coach St Kitts And Nevis Chess Team · rediff.com

A chess teacher from Mumbai named Praful Jhaveri has been chosen to coach a chess team from two small islands called St Kitts and Nevis.

The team will play in a big chess competition called the Chess Olympiad.

The competition will take place in Uzbekistan, a country in Central Asia, from September 15 to 28.

Another chess expert named Abhilash Kelkar suggested that Jhaveri should get this job.

Kelkar had coached the same team before, at the 2024 Chess Olympiad, and he recommended some of Jhaveri's books.

Jhaveri has already started training the young and passionate team.

He knows the competition will be tough, so the team wants to perform well and be proud of their results.

Some players on the team do not have a FIDE rating yet, which is like a score that shows how good a chess player is.

Jhaveri says it would be especially rewarding if those players earn their very first FIDE ratings at the tournament.
