US-Iran Ceasefire Deadline Passes With No End to Fighting

US-Iran Ceasefire Deadline Passes With No End to Fighting

Two countries, the United States and Iran, were fighting a war.

In June, their leaders signed a special paper called a ceasefire, which is a promise to stop fighting.

The promise was supposed to lead to a bigger deal to end the war within 60 days.

The leaders signed the paper on June 17.

Other countries, like Pakistan, helped them make the deal.

The deal said both sides had to agree on what to do with Iran's special nuclear material.

But the two sides kept saying the other side broke the promise.

Now the 60 days are over, and the fighting has not stopped.

The deadline ends on Monday, and there is no end to the war in sight.
