Delhi's Air Quality Crisis: CM Urges Joint Action, 1500 Polluting Units Shut
Delhi's air is very dirty, and the leader of Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta, went to a meeting with leaders from nearby places.
She told them that Delhi can't clean its air all by itself and asked them to work together.
She wants everyone to stop farmers from burning leftover crops, control pollution from factories, and keep the dust down.
This is important because Delhi has had many unhealthy air days, and the air quality is still very bad.
The government also shut down over 1,500 polluting units in the area to help clean the air.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta urged neighboring states to take joint, immediate action on air pollution at the Northern Zonal Council meeting.
Gupta called for stricter curbs on stubble burning, industrial pollution, road dust, and a transition to zero-emission transport.
Over 1,500 polluting units across NCR were shut down following CAQM's directions, including 264 in Delhi, 234 in Haryana, 637 in UP, and 121 in Rajasthan.
Delhi's AQI remained in the 'very poor' category on Monday, with a 24-hour average of 351.
The Supreme Court criticized Punjab and Haryana for inadequate measures against farm fires and demanded action reports.
