Chakan Industries Pause Exit Plans After Maharashtra Infrastructure Assurances

Chakan Industries Pause Exit Plans After Maharashtra Infrastructure Assurances

Many small factories in Chakan have struggled with bad roads, traffic, water, electricity and garbage problems.

About 20 companies were thinking about moving to Khandala in Satara district.

Together, these businesses employ about 3,000 to 4,000 people.

Government leaders met factory owners, residents, politicians and officials to discuss the problems.

The leaders promised to improve roads and other basic services.

They also created a committee led by Pune Collector Jitendra Dudi to coordinate the work.

Some repairs are expected soon, while larger projects may take up to several years.

The companies are giving the government 10 to 12 months to show progress before deciding whether to move.
