Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association Sub-Committee Member Resigns
A person named Sunil Sethi, who was part of a special team helping run cricket in Jammu and Kashmir, has decided to quit.
This team was formed to manage the cricket association's daily tasks.
Sunil felt unhappy because he believed someone in charge before (the Ombudsman) was issuing old orders that unfairly changed who got to manage local cricket clubs and vote.
He didn't want to be involved in these decisions.
The cricket association is also preparing for new elections, which the country's highest court said must happen soon.
Sunil's resignation is tied to these issues and his desire not to be part of any unfair changes.
Sunil Sethi has resigned from the legal affairs sub-committee of the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
His resignation letter was addressed to Mithun Manhas, the President of the BCCI.
Sethi cited his disagreement with backdated orders from the former Ombudsman that allegedly alter club management and voting rights.
These alleged changes were reportedly made without his knowledge and Sethi did not want to be a party to them.
The Supreme Court has ordered JKCA elections to be held within 12 weeks under the supervision of former Chief Election Commissioner Achal Kumar Joti.
