Kolkata to Get Heavy Rain After Heat and Humidity
Imagine it was a very hot and humid day in Kolkata, like a giant, sticky hug.
But don't worry, the weather is changing!
A big storm called Wipha, which used to be in Vietnam, is now making its way to Kolkata.
It's expected to cause lots of rain, especially on Friday.
The rain might be very heavy in some areas.
This is because a storm in the Bay of Bengal is teaming up with monsoon winds to bring the rain.
So, get ready for some wet weather!
Kolkata experienced heat and humidity on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature reaching 35.2 degrees Celsius.
The Met office forecasts heavy rain for Kolkata and surrounding districts, starting Thursday.
A cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal and intensify into a low-pressure area by Friday.
This weather system is a remnant of tropical storm Wipha, which previously impacted Southeast Asia.
Very heavy rain (7-20cm) is expected in some districts, including North and South 24-Parganas, and East Midnapore on Thursday.
