BJP Set to Claim Mayor’s Post in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 57 seats in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) elections, making it likely that they will claim the mayor’s post.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won 33 seats and will be the principal opposition party.

The state government has not yet conducted the draw of reservations for the mayor’s post, which will determine from which ward the mayor will be elected.

The BJP will need the support of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena to establish power, as the magical figure for forming the civic government is 58.

The CSMC will have 10 co-opted corporators, bringing the total number of corporators to 125.

The district administration is preparing for the Zilla Parishad (ZP) and Panchayat Samiti (PS) elections, ensuring transparent and fearless polls.
