India Introduces Bharat Forecast System for Enhanced Weather Prediction
India has introduced a new weather prediction system called the Bharat Forecast System (BFS).
This system is very detailed, providing forecasts for small areas, even down to the village level.
The BFS can predict the weather with greater accuracy than before and will help manage disasters better.
The new system uses a powerful supercomputer and was developed by scientists in Pune.
India launched the Bharat Forecast System (BFS), a high-resolution weather prediction system.
BFS has a 6 km spatial resolution, the highest globally, improving forecast accuracy.
The system was developed by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune.
BFS enhances tracking of monsoons and aids in disaster management and localized forecasting.
The new system allows for more localized predictions and helps with panchayat-level requirements.
