Courts in England and Wales ban Meta smart glasses

Courts in England and Wales have decided to take away Meta smart glasses from people who try to wear them inside court buildings.

These clever glasses have a tiny camera inside, so people can record videos without anyone knowing.

The courts are worried that people might secretly record trials, which is against the rules and can be a serious crime called contempt of court.

Taking pictures or videos inside a court building without permission is not allowed in the UK.

Some people have already worn these glasses in court, and even security guards wore them during a big trial about social media addiction.

The judge warned the guards that they could get in trouble if they recorded anything.

Other places in the UK, like pubs, restaurants, theatres and music venues, have also banned the glasses.

People have been using them to film others without asking, and some of those videos were posted online.

A study in Sydney found many videos where men secretly filmed women, and most of those videos showed behaviour that could be harassment.
