7th Pay Commission Ends with 55% Salary Rise

The 7th Central Pay Commission's 10-year term is ending on December 31.

It was put in place on January 1, 2016, and made big changes to how much central government employees get paid.

The commission set a fitment factor of 2.57 and got rid of the old grade pay system, making salaries easier to understand.

Before the 7th Pay Commission, employees at the lowest level (Level-1) earned around Rs 22,000 a month.

Now, their salary is about Rs 34,000, which is a 55% increase over 10 years.

Even though the base pay hasn't changed since 2016, other parts of the salary, like the House Rent Allowance (HRA), have gone up a lot.

Employees are now hoping for even better pay in the next pay commission.

Additionally, the Indian Railways has announced over 22,000 vacancies in the Level-1 Group D category, providing a significant opportunity for job seekers.
