Brahmin MLAs' Dinner Meeting Sparks Uttar Pradesh Political Buzz
A group of Brahmin MLAs and MLCs from the BJP in Uttar Pradesh had a dinner meeting in Lucknow.
This meeting is seen as important because it happened just after the BJP appointed a new leader from a different community.
Some people think this dinner is a way for the Brahmin leaders to show their strength and make sure their community is fairly represented in the party.
Others say it was just a social gathering.
There have been other similar meetings with different caste groups, and these are making people talk about what the BJP's plans might be for the next big elections in 2027.
Nearly four dozen Brahmin MLAs and MLCs of the ruling BJP attended an informal baati-chokha dinner meeting in Lucknow.
The meeting was held at the official residence of BJP MLA P N Pathak from Kushinagar.
The gathering is seen as a display of activism and a message to maintain caste balance within the party, following the BJP's appointment of a Kurmi community leader as the new state president.
Political analysts believe the meeting is a response to the BJP's declining vote share among OBCs, particularly the Kurmi community, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting is expected to intensify political activity within the state BJP ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, with similar gatherings by other caste groups already taking place.
