Meghalaya and Tripura Destroy Narcotics Worth Millions

The Meghalaya Police and other security forces in Tripura recently destroyed a large amount of illegal drugs and ganja plants.

In Meghalaya, drugs worth over Rs 9 crore, including heroin, yaba tablets, ganja, codeine syrup, and R-7 tablets, were destroyed.

This was done as part of the DREAM initiative to fight drug abuse.

In Tripura, around 1.45 lakh ganja plants worth Rs 14.5 crore were destroyed in a joint operation by Assam Rifles, Tripura Police, and other agencies.

The operations aim to stop drug trafficking and protect communities from the harmful effects of drugs.

The actions were taken under the NDPS Act, 1985, which makes it illegal to cultivate, possess, or sell narcotics.
