Hong Kong Fire Death Toll Rises to 128
A very bad fire happened in a big apartment building in Hong Kong.
The fire started because of the bamboo scaffolding and the plastic netting used for construction.
More than 128 people died, and many others are still missing.
The fire spread very quickly because the bamboo and the netting caught fire easily.
The government and many big companies are helping the people affected by the fire.
Some people think that using bamboo for scaffolding is not safe, especially for tall buildings, and they want to use metal instead.
The fire is the worst in Hong Kong in a very long time.
Residents said they did not hear any fire alarms and had to knock on doors to warn their neighbors.
Firefighters and volunteers are working hard to help the people affected by the fire.
The death toll from the Hong Kong fire has risen to at least 128, with 200 people still missing.
The fire started in bamboo scaffolding and protective mesh used for renovations at the Wang Fuk Court housing complex.
At least 76 people were injured, including 11 in critical condition, and eleven people were arrested in connection with the fire.
The Hong Kong government has set up a HK$300 million fund to help residents and is discussing replacing bamboo scaffolding with metal.
Major companies like Alibaba, Tencent, and Xiaomi have donated millions to fire relief efforts, and the government is providing temporary accommodation and emergency funds for displaced residents.
