CJI Tells Panel To Prioritize Sexual Assault Complaints

CJI Tells Panel To Prioritize Sexual Assault Complaints

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant spoke about complaints made by women during the Cockroach Janta Party protests.

Some women said they faced sexual assault.

The Supreme Court has created a five-member committee to examine what happened.

The committee is also looking into claims of police violence.

The chief justice said the sexual assault complaints should be handled first.

He asked the committee to prepare an interim report quickly.

The Supreme Court will study that report.

It will then decide what orders should be made.
