Los Angeles Production Down 16.1% in 2025
In 2025, Los Angeles saw a big drop in film and TV production, with 16.1% fewer shoot days compared to 2024.
However, there was a small increase in the last few months of the year.
The California Film & TV Tax Credit Program, which gives money to productions, seems to be helping a bit.
Commercials, TV shows, and movies all had fewer shoot days, but some types of TV shows and independent films are doing a little better because of the tax credits.
Local officials are also working to make it easier and cheaper for productions to shoot in the area.
On-location production in Los Angeles saw a 16.1% decline in 2025 compared to 2024, with 19,694 total shoot days.
Q4 2025 saw a 5.6% increase in shoot days compared to Q3 2025, totaling 4,625 shoot days.
